Vintage late 1920s, early 1930s silk chiffon beaded dress by Milgrim. From the #vintagefashionguild:
“Milgrim was a specialty store that dated from, at least, the early 1920s in New York City and later with stores in Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland and other cities in the East. The designer at Milgrim was Sally Milgrim. As in other stores in the first half of the 20th century, Milgrim had both a custom salon and ready-to-wear clothes. They also imported and sold French designs.”
The dress is a soft pink.
The fabrics are silk satin and silk chiffon. The back of the dress has amazing cut outs. The beads are clear and accentuated with rhinestones. All original.
CONDITION:
The beading appears all intact but there could be a bead or a rhinestone missing. The beads were expertly strengthened and enforced by a professional seamstress.
The issues I find are:
Light staining on under both arms and a light stain at the front collar.
The belt clip is missing a lot of rhinestone but it is very rare to have a belt with a 20s/30s gown. The fabric on the belt is in great condition.
The small scalloped frills on the bottom of the skirt were replaced with vintage chiffon. The original fabric was a bright magenta and had tears throughout.
I am rating this as being in VERY GOOD CONDITION.
