Vintage 1920s black hat with small brim by C. Hawley millinery, Malone, New York.
I was convinced this was a brand new reproduction until I looked underneath the crown and saw that is is very old and very authentic. It is in EXCELLENT CONDITION!
As mentioned, under the brim the hat is lined in silk satin. It says “C. Hawley, Millinery” and then “Malone, NY.”
On the front is a gorgeous half moon of black grosgrain and then two rows of black ribboned mesh made of starched horsehair. The band that runs around the brim looks like a black silk satin.
I am a 21” circumference and the hat fits me perfectly.
