Very rare German woman’s hat made during the war (wwii.) The hat label is Elsa Faul, Heidelberg. This makes sense, as Heidelberg, in Southern Germany, was not bombed.
The only reference I can find to Elsa Faul is a couple newspaper ads. I read a comment by someone that said she made hats from 1942 to the early 50s. I have two of the ads posted in the pictures.
I have no name for the hat style, it is almost like a modified cloche.
The hat is in excellent condition. The felt has no chews or discoloration. The only issue is that the 5 brass buttons on the crown have slight wear, but present beautifully. I am rating this hat as being in EXCELLENT MINUS CONDITION.
The hat is roomy and has an elastic band to hold it on. It is a one size fits all.
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
