Vintage early 1920s rust colored cloche by Carolyne Schenk of San Mateo/Francisco.
The rust colored horsehair has light beige stitching on the folds and adds a nice touch.
The cloche is what they call a wide-brim cloche and the crown has a fold to its design.
The inside lining looks like a silk taffeta. Of interesting note there is an attached black band on one side of the inside crown which made it wearable for a smaller head. With this band it is a snug 21” circumference. It appears to be sewn in so I will not remove it, but I think if removed it would add another inch to the circumference.
CONDITION:
The hat itself is in excellent condition both inside and out. The front feather appears to have some wear and I am pricing it accordingly. If the feather is replaced it would make a big difference. I am rating it as being in VERY GOOD CONDITION.
