The hat in the image is a 1940s-style black wool cartwheel hat, also known as a wide-brim or platter hat. It was put together in separate sections to make the “cartwheel.”
It is made from black wool felt and has an elastic band to keep it from blowing away. The hat has a thin black grosgrain ribbon around the crown. No label or markings.
CONDITION:
I see no fading, moth chews, or holes. I am rating this as being in VERY GOOD CONDITION!
MEASUREMENTS:
The hat has a 22” circumference.
